About the event
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the King of the Universe. Every year, the Roman Catholic Church honors this title and authority in a solemn Mass recalling that, "When He spoke, He spoke as one with authority." - Matthew 7:29. At St. Francis de Sales Oratory, an apostolate of The Institute of Christ the King, this feast is the titular feast and high point of the liturgical year for its canons, oblates, and faithful. 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of this feast, it having been established by Pope Pius XI in 1925. To honor the centennial, a special mass was composed expressly for the occasion: Missa Fons Bonitatis for Chorus and Orchestra, collaboratively composed by the Institute of Christ the King's own sacred musicians, Abbe Raymond Schmidt, Abbe Nicholas Tousignant, James Marck, and edited by composer and sacred musician Raymond Boudreau.
